Dr.
Azmayesh was born in
Iran
and currently lives in
Paris,
.After his studies in Law, and Literature (Tehran
in 1975),
he left
Iran
for
France
in 1976 in order to complete his studies.
Dr.
Azmayesh holds two doctorates and diplomas one on “Religious Sciences”
from the Sorbonne”, and another in “History of Law in the
Faculty of Pantheon” and in “comparative studies of Islam and
Christianity” at
University
of
Lyon II
(Lyon).
He is also the
Director of
the uniquely scientific magazine about “Mysticism and Sufism” [Erfan Iran] for
more than twenty years which is published in Persian
He is both a scholar and a teacher and is renowned specialist on
Gnosis and Sufism and has published many articles and books on this
topic.
Dr.
Azmayesh has traveled extensively in
Europe
and
North America
and has given lecture at various universities such as
university
of
California,
University
of
Liden
and Düsseldorf.
During the
last few years Dr Azmayesh has attempted to bring forth and introduce to
the world the essence of Sufism through establishment of classes and
workshops in such countries as
Denmark,
Germany,
France,
Holland,
Sweden,
United Kingdom,
and
United States.
He also introduces “the Path of
the Substantial Evolution” through several broadcasting media and his numerous
writings (which have been translated into many languages: Persian, English,
Dutch, German, and French) .
